The Pearl Day Spa Broome
Once the mud began to crack, we were urged to run into the sea and wash the mud off, completely invigorating us. We had arranged to stay the night glamping in eco tents, however this is a great day trip from Broome and if your significant other isn't into spas there are a heap of other activities such as fishing that may take their fancy. The Dragonfly Day Spa has a range of more traditional treatments available and if you stay overnight at the resort, complimentary morning yoga is available at certain times of the year. They also have the Travellers Delight perfect for those who have been road tripping the Kimberley. This treatment focusses on the feet, neck, shoulders and back and is now on my list for my next visit! Mud and Bubbles 1 hour $40 Travellers Delight 1 hour $95 Dragonfly Day Spa Lot 323 Great Northern Highway Broome has always had a chilled out, laidback vibe. Maybe it's the sunny days, the waves lapping at your toes, or the friendliness of its people but if you want to take it to that next level of relaxation, a spa treatment from one of the extensive menus of these spa faves is the way to go.

Pearling still remains a thriving industry and the world famous South Sea pearls feature in Chinatown's string of pearl galleries. Broome's climate is also something to boast about with warm sunny days, balmy nights and spectacular storms during the tropical summer season. Not to mention the unforgettable spectacle of sunset on Cable Beach. The coastline of Australia's North West near Broome is quite breathtaking with notable landmarks including Gantheaume Point with it's dinosaur footprints and Anastacia's Pool. The contrast between the tropical blue water and the coloured rocks lining the shore is a great sight.

Among the more significant are the Broome Crocodile Park on Cable Beach Road near the Cable Beach Resort. The brainchild of well known adventurer and wildlife documentary maker, Malcolm Douglas, it has been established as a research station as well as a place where the public can be educated about the dangers of crocodiles. The crocodiles in the park are predominantly 'problem' animals which have been transported from all over northern Western Australia. It is located just around the corner from the Pearl Coast Zoo (a private zoo owned by Lord McAlpine) which, like all good modern zoos, is an environment where the human visitor doesn't feel as though they are gawping at animals behind steel bars or penned into tiny cages. The zoo's emphasis is on animals of the Kimberley area. Broome Historical Museum Visitors interested in exploring the remnants of the history of the town should start and the Broome Historical Museum in Saville Street at the southern end of Dampier Terrace which has an excellent range of memorabilia relating the town's pearling past.
